Test Admin Guide

  • From the List of Test Questions menu, select Essay Test Questions.

  • Click Create Question in the upper-right corner of the page.


  • Enter a title for the question.

  • The title is used for internal management purposes only and is not displayed to test-takers.

    • Example: Dullsuck Contest Division A - Question 1

  • Enter the question prompt.

  • You can insert images, links, and tables into the description.

  • </> inserts inline code. CB inserts a code block.

  • HTML is not supported on the actual test page for security reasons.

    Use Markdown syntax and the editor’s formatting tools when creating content.

  • To enter mathematical expressions, switch the editor mode to Markdown and insert a code block using CB.

  • LaTeX syntax

    • Use LaTeX syntax to enter mathematical expressions.

    • To enter a formula, type latex next to the opening triple backticks (`````),

      then write the formula on the following lines.

  • Insert Images into Questions

    • Images can only be inserted into the question description (not into answer choices).

      • It is recommended to upload image files directly.

      • Avoid using external image links or copy-pasting images.


  • The File attachment feature allows test-takers to upload files when answering an essay question.

  • Do not use file attachment

    • Test-takers can enter text answers only. File uploads are not available.

  • Use file attachment only

    • Test-takers can upload one file up to 30 MB. The text input field is not available.

  • Use both text input field and file attachment feature

    • Test-takers can upload one file up to 30 MB and also enter a text answer.

  • Enter the recommended time required to solve the question.

  • This value is for reference only and does not limit the actual solving time.

  • Choose whether spaces should be included when counting answer characters.

  • Enable this option to restrict the maximum number of characters allowed in an answer.


  • Questions can be organized and managed by Subject and Type.

  • Select a difficulty level from Lv0 to Lv5.

  • Difficulty levels can be used to quickly locate questions when creating tests or browsing the Question List.

  • In the Question List, difficulty is displayed as a level.

  • The correct answer rate is displayed once at least 10 test-takers have answered the question.

  • Use this information as a reference when assigning a difficulty level.

  • The correct answer rate is also available when selecting test questions and viewing the Question List.
